The three-week Joe Donato Scratch Singles tournament concluded Sunday night with 405 entries and $17,500 - a record for the 4-year-old tournament - paid out.


Jerry Brunette Jr. of Rochester won the $4,000 top prize, defeating Nick Miseno of Amsterdam 269-194 in the title match. Brunette, a 41-year-old left-hander, qualified 18th and won five straight matches, including a 196-183 triumph over Jim Comette of South Royalton, Vt., in the semifinals. Miseno, who beat Bill Webb of Springfield, Mass., 244-215 in the semifinals, won $2,000.


The entry total was eight short of last year's record.

Dan Healy of Town 'n Country topped the senior boys' Eastern Division at Playdium with a 703. Becca Graef of Spare Time-Latham was the girls' leader with a 661 at Alpha. Jordan Schellinger of Boulevard paced the junior boys' division at Redwood with a 630.
