On Wednesday, June 14, at 1:30 p.m., the staff and students of Public School 16 at 41 N. Allen Street, Albany, will celebrate 94 years of serving the Pine Hills community. Included in the celebration will be the dedication of the first in a series of framed photographs showing the school's past. The school has been in continuous operation since opening its doors in 1906. A growing student body led to the need to expand the school in 1930. Fifty-six years later, parents, teachers, students and other caring community members built an exciting, child-friendly playground on the premises. The playground is still enjoyed by the school's children as well as others in the neighborhood.

If you are a graduate with memories to share, or if you have photographs taken during your years at the school and are willing to share them with us during this celebration, please contact me.
